Sound Healing Therapy
A Journey Back to Your Body's Natural Rhythm
Sound healing is an ancient practice that uses vibrational frequencies to guide your nervous system from a state of activation back to rest, repair, and deep presence. Through carefully selected instruments and intentional tones, we create a sonic environment that invites your body to remember its innate capacity for balance and ease.
What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing therapy works with the principle that everything in our bodies—our cells, organs, and nervous system—vibrates at specific frequencies. When we experience chronic stress, trauma, or overwhelm, these natural rhythms can become dysregulated, leaving us feeling stuck in patterns of tension, anxiety, or disconnection.
During a sound healing session, therapeutic instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, chimes, tuning forks, or vocal toning create harmonic frequencies that interact with your body's energy field. These sound waves don't just reach your ears—they're felt throughout your entire body, gently encouraging your nervous system to shift from sympathetic activation (fight, flight, freeze) into parasympathetic rest (digest, restore, heal).
How Sound Healing Supports Nervous System Regulation
Your nervous system is always listening, always responding. Sound healing offers a pathway to regulation that bypasses the thinking mind and speaks directly to the body:
Entrainment & Coherence
Just as your heartbeat can sync with another person's when you're close, your nervous system naturally attunes to the consistent, harmonious frequencies in sound healing. This process, called entrainment, helps calm erratic brainwave patterns and brings your system into coherent rhythm.
Activating the Relaxation Response
The resonant tones of therapeutic instruments stimulate the vagus nerve—the primary channel of your parasympathetic nervous system. This activation signals to your body that it's safe to let go, to soften, to release the vigilance that keeps you in survival mode.
Releasing Stored Tension
Sound vibrations move through the body like gentle waves, reaching places that conscious awareness alone cannot access. Many clients report sensations of energy moving, emotions releasing, or tension dissolving as the sound helps shake loose what's been held in the tissues.
Creating a Container for Processing
The immersive experience of sound provides a safe, held space for your system to process and integrate. Without needing to analyze or explain, your body can simply be with what is, allowing natural healing processes to unfold.
What to Expect in a Session
Virtual Sessions (60-75 minutes)
From the comfort of your own space, you'll be guided into a relaxed state as I use high-quality audio to deliver healing frequencies. Virtual sessions are ideal for those who want to integrate sound healing into their home practice or cannot travel to our locations.
In-Person Sessions (60-90 minutes)
You'll lie comfortably on a cushioned mat while surrounded by the live resonance of therapeutic instruments. The vibrations you'll feel throughout your body create a deeply immersive experience that many describe as a "sonic massage" for the nervous system.
Both formats include:
Brief opening conversation to set intentions
Guided breathwork or body awareness to settle in
Extended sound immersion experience
Gentle integration time as you return to waking awareness
Optional closing reflection
