You've been doing everything you're "supposed" to do—maybe you've read the books, tried the breathing exercises, told yourself to just think differently.

But something still feels stuck. You might be here because:

  • Your body holds the score - tension, pain, or physical symptoms that don't have a clear medical cause

  • Your nervous system won't let you rest - hypervigilance, insomnia, or that constant feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop

  • Past experiences keep showing up in the present - triggers, flashbacks, or patterns you can't seem to break

  • You feel stuck between shutdown and overwhelm - numbness alternating with emotional flooding

  • Traditional talk therapy hasn't been enough - you understand what happened, but you still feel it in your bones

  • You're ready to heal, not just cope - you want transformation, not just management

If any of this resonates, please know:

There's nothing wrong with you. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it was designed to do to protect you. And there is a way through.

How Therapy Can Help

Healing trauma isn't about rehashing your story over and over or simply understanding what happened cognitively. Real healing happens when we work with your whole system—mind, body, and nervous system—to help you move from survival mode into a place where you can finally rest, connect, and be present in your life.

Together, we'll create a therapeutic relationship that becomes a safe container for your healing journey. I offer trauma-informed care that meets you exactly where you are, honoring your pace and your unique path forward.

My Approach

I integrate evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities because I've seen firsthand that sustainable healing requires working with both the story your mind tells and the story your body holds:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

This powerful therapy helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they lose their emotional charge. What once felt overwhelming can become something you remember without being hijacked by it. EMDR allows your nervous system to complete what it couldn't complete when the trauma happened, creating new neural pathways for safety and resilience.

KAP (Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy)

For those seeking deeper access to healing, KAP offers a supported journey into expanded states of consciousness where rigid patterns can soften and new perspectives can emerge. In a carefully held therapeutic setting, ketamine can help you access parts of yourself that feel unreachable in ordinary consciousness, facilitating breakthroughs in processing and integration.

Somatic Therapy

Your body remembers what your mind might have forgotten. Through somatic work, we listen to the wisdom stored in your physical sensations, gestures, and posture. We help your nervous system release what's been held and teach your body new responses—so you can feel safe in your own skin again.

Sound Therapy

Therapeutic sound creates a vibrational environment where your nervous system can naturally regulate and recalibrate. The frequencies bypass your thinking mind and speak directly to your body, offering a pathway to deep rest and restoration that complements our other work together.

What We'll Do Together

Our work isn't about me having all the answers—it's about creating a collaborative space where your innate healing capacity can emerge. We'll move at a pace that feels right for your system, building resources and safety before moving into deeper processing.

You'll learn to:

  • Recognize and work with your nervous system states

  • Develop tools for self-regulation that you can use anytime

  • Process trauma in a way that doesn't retraumatize

  • Reconnect with your body as a source of wisdom rather than threat

  • Build capacity for the full range of human emotions without being overwhelmed

  • Create new patterns that support the life you actually want to live

Frequently Asked Questions

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which is an evidence based psychotherapy approach designed to help individuals process and overcome traumatic experiences. It is a structured protocol that includes recalling traumatic or distressing memories while simultaneously adding in bilateral stimulation, such as tracking dots on a screen (for telehealth EMDR Therapy), bilateral tapping, or alternating tones in headphones. This allows an individual to stimulate the brain’s information processing system and reduce the intensity of the traumatic memory. EMDR Therapy has been shown to be an effective treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and attachment wound healing.

  • In an effort to provide the public with skilled practitioners of EMDR, the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) developed a certification process. To achieve the designation of EMDRIA Certified Therapist, a licensed mental health clinician must go beyond the basic EMDR Institute Level I and Level II training required to be able to offer EMDR Therapy, and demonstrate clinical proficiency in their EMDR skills.

To earn the designation of EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, a therapist must provide written documentation to support that they have completed an EMDRIA approved Level I & II training program in EMDR, have conducted a minimum of fifty clinical sessions in which EMDR was utilized, have received twenty hours of consultation by an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and received three letters of recommendation from EMDR therapists who are familiar with the therapists EMDR skill, knowledge and ethical practice.

In addition, to maintain Certification, a therapist must complete at least twelve hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years.

  • Telehealth can be a great fit if you’re balancing practical needs or seeking a comfortable, private setting for your care. Here are the key advantages: Transportation reduces or eliminates travel time and costs, parking hassles, and concerns about vehicle reliability. Convenience means sessions can fit into your schedule, even during lunch breaks or after work. Caregiver responsibilities—such as childcare, partner care, or eldercare—are easier to coordinate around therapy. Accessibility is improved for physical limitations or mental health barriers that make in-person visits challenging. Work and life balance benefits from flexible timing that helps you take care of yourself without taking excessive time off. Comfort comes from receiving therapy in the private, familiar space of your home or another location you find comfortable. Weather disruptions are less of a barrier since there’s no commute to contend with. Privacy is enhanced by eliminating waiting-room encounters, allowing you to share openly in a setting you control. Finally, safety considerations are supported, as online counseling can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing intimate partner violence or other safety concerns, offering discreet, confidential access to care.

  • You can cancel your session via the online portal or via email. A 24-hour advance cancellation notice of scheduled appointments is required for any reason in order to avoid being charged the late-cancellation fee. Obviously life happens; the fee is ALWAYS waived the first time.

  • Using out-of-network benefits typically starts with verifying your coverage and any deductibles or caps. Then you submit a claim to your insurer with superbill I provide to you, and you’ll be reimbursed according to your plan’s reimbursement rate. If you’re unsure about details, give your insurance a call or check your explanation of benefits.

When you’re checking with your insurance company about coverage, consider asking:

    • What outpatient mental health benefits are available out of network, and what portion of each session would be reimbursed?

    • Do I need to meet a deductible before out-of-network benefits apply, and have any portion of that deductible already been met?

    • Are there any limits on services, such as maximum annual reimbursements, a cap on the number of sessions, or restrictions by diagnosis?

    • Is a referral required from a primary care physician or university counseling center before reimbursement can occur?

    • How long does reimbursement typically take after I submit a claim?

    • Where should I send my receipts—by mail or email, and to which address or portal?

    • Do my benefits include coverage for online or tele-mental health counseling?

  • Yep! Both payments are welcome.

  • To help you decide if my practice is the right fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. Depending on availability, you can choose an in-person or virtual session. This brief intro gives you space to ask questions about our approach, treatment options, and what you can expect from working with me.

After the consult, you’ll schedule your first appointment directly through the online portal. Before your first visit, please complete your new client consents and questionnaires via our paperless client portal.

The first full session is an opportunity to get to know you and understand what you hope to achieve. We will gather relevant details at a comfortable pace, and you’re welcome to share only what you’re ready to disclose. Together, we’ll create a practical plan to work toward your goals.

It’s natural to feel a bit nervous about something new. Many clients find that, by the end of the initial session, there’s a sense of relief and clarity about the path ahead.
